Meet Abbi:

Owner of Lethal Looks Salon, Master Stylist/Makeup Artist

Hey everyone, I'm Abbi! I am SO incredibly blessed to be pursuing my love and passion as a career. I absolutely love doing hair and makeup, and more importantly making people feel great about themselves!

A little about me: I am a proud momma of a little boy. We are a country loving family and have a homestead and horse/farm rescue up north that I collectively run with my man and my momma! If you want to check it out, search Facebook for Varlebena Farms! I love Jesus with my whole heart and I am so blessed to be used by Him to work with my hands and help those around me. I cannot give enough thanks. I’m also very ingredient conscience and holistic. I try to use clean products and avoid toxic chemicals and hormone disrupters in my salon. I definitely “nerd out” with my clients and as a total disclaimer: I have adhd. Needless to say we have fun in the salon!

Now let’s talk my role in the industry: I not only work in the salon, but I also travel nationwide for weddings and photoshoots! I have been published nationally and internationally, and have more publication jobs in the works! A few of my publications include the cover of Shutter Magazine, ads in Shutter Magazine, the Profoto A1 launch ad which was published internationally, Off Beat Bride, etc... a big moment for me was being nominated for the Behind the Chair One Shot Awards 2019. Out of 330,000 entries, and over 80 countries I was blessed to be a finalist!

I take pride in my ability to not just use the creative aspects of hair and makeup, but to take a more logical and strategic approach. This allows me to formulate and create in a more precise manner, and allows me to design custom looks for each individual client according to their hair type, skin tone, face shape, etc... I love learning and continuously take classes to provide the best quality services for all of my clients.

I was always told you needed to find your “niche” and specialize in something. I agree, focus needs to be centralized in a certain direction. I don’t think this applies to everyone. I have a tendency to get bored when I focus on just ONE thing. So yes, I definitely have things I “specialize” in, but I strive to be diverse. I do a lot of specialty work with men’s hair, and specialize in dry cutting for women (I will not cut wet, like… ever.) I also do a lot of color corrections and lived in color (balayaging). Makeup was one of my original “niches” and extensions are becoming a new favorite of mine. Overall, I try to always broaden my ability, but one thing is for certain: if I am not comfortable doing it, I won’t. I will never set my clients or myself up for failure, and I have no issues referring someone to someone more adequate if I feel that is needed!

Honestly though, the most important thing to me in this industry is not only creating individual and custom looks for everyone, but to make YOU feel great about YOU. It's about building confidence and to be able to take on each day feeling and looking the best you can! There was a distinct moment that I got to see a client “transform” and that confidence burst out of her, and that to me was the confirmation of this is what I need to do with my life. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions! I look forward to having you in my chair!
